Sezon rozpoczął się 3 kwietnia na Brands Hatch, a zakończył się 16 października na torze Silverstone Circuit, po rozegraniu 10 rund składających się z 30 wyścigów. Od tego sezonu została wprowadzona nowa specyfikacja samochodów – Next Generation Touring Car (NGTC, samochód turystyczny następnej generacji). Był to jednocześnie finałowy sezon dla specyfikacji BTC Touring używanej od 2001. Tytuł mistrzowski wśród kierowców zdobył po raz trzeci Matt Neal. Wśród producentów mistrzostwo wywalczyła po raz drugi z rzędu Honda, podobnie jak Honda Racing Team w klasyfikacji zespołów. Mistrzostwo kierowców niezależnych zdobył James Nash, a mistrzostwo zespołów niezależnych 888 Racing with Collins Contractors.
