Tworzył także muzykę filmową, m.in. do Anatomii morderstwa (Anatomy of a Murder) Otto Premingera, w której zagrał też epizodyczną rolę pianisty w barze.
Został pochowany na Woodlawn Cemetery w Nowym Jorku.
