Šahovska olimpijada 1930.

Treća Šahovska olimpijada 1930, koju je organizirala FIDE i koja se sastojala od otvorenog i ženskog turnira, uz nekoliko pratećih događaja sa svrhom promocije šaha, održana je od 13. do 27. jula u Hamburgu.Šahovska olimpijada 1930. na OlimpBaseu Tokom ove olimpijade održano je i Drugo svjetsko prvenstvo za žene.

Turnir Turnir se igrao u Lohenhauau. Na olimpijadi je nastupilo 18 ekipa sa ukupno 89 šahista, koji su igrali po Bergerovom sistemu. Odigrano je 612 partija, a timovi su igrali na četiri table.

Rezultati Pobjednik bila je ekipa Poljske u sastavu: Akiba Rubinstein sa 13 pobjeda i 4 remija, Savielly Tartakower (+9 −1 =6), Dawid Przepiórka (+7 −2 =4), Kazimierz Makarczyk (+5 −3 =5) i Paulino Frydman (+3 −2 =4). Drugo mjesto osvojili su šahisti Mađarske: Géza Maróczy (+6 −2 =4), Sándor Takács (+6 −3 =5), Árpád Vajda (+7 −3 =4), Kornél Havasi (+10 −0 =4) i Endre Steiner (+7 −2 =5), a treće Njemačka: Carl Ahues (+4 −3 =7), Fritz Sämisch (+8 −3 =3), Carl Carls (+6 −1 =7), Kurt Richter (+6 −3 =3) i Heinrich Wagner (+8 −1 =5). Najbolji igrač bio je Aleksandar Aljehin sa stoprocentnim učinkom i osvojenih 9 poena iz 9 partija, ali je Akiba Rubinstein dobio zlatnu medalju zbog najviše osvojenih bodova (15 od 17 partija).
