miniatura|Retrat de l'actor (1916) Creighton Hale (Comtat de Cork, Irlanda), 24 de maig de 1882 – South Pasadena (Califòrnia), 9 d'agost de 1965) va ser un actor de cinema, teatre i televisió. Tot i tenir majoritàriament rols secundaris, la seva carrera s'estengué durant prop de cinquanta anys.
Biografia Patrick W. Fitzegarld (nom real de l'actor) va néixer al comtat de Cork, Irlanda fill de Maud V. Hale i de l'actor Daniel Fitzgerald. Va fer el seu debut teatral com un actor infantil en una gira amb la companyia del seu pare. Educat a Dublín i Londres, més tard va assistir a l'Ardingly College de Sussex. El 1912 es va casar amb Victoire Lowe, amb qui tindria dos fills. Va emigrar als Estats Units el 1913, amb una companyia dirigida per Gertrude Elliott que representà a Broadway l'obra “The Dawn of Tomorrow” on apareixia amb el nom de Pat Creighton Hale, que més tard escurçaria com a Creighton Hale. Després actuaria a les companyies de Hunter Bradford, Andrew Mack i Ben Greet en diferents parts del país.
Entretant, va debutar a la pantalla en un rol menor amb el serial “The Million Dollar Mistery" (1914) de la Thanhouser. Mentre actuava a l'obra teatral “Indian Summer” a Broadway va ser vist per un director de la Pathe Film Company. Apareixeria a “The Exploits of Elaine” (1914) protagonitzada per Pearl White i en les seves seqüeles “The Romance of Elaine” (1915) i “The New Exploits of Elaine” (1915). Hale va tenir papers secundaris destacats en pel·lícules com “Way Down East” (1920), “The Idol Dancer” (1920) i “Orphans of the Storm” (1921), totesde D.W. Griffith i més tard va protagonitzar pel·lícules com “The Marriage Circle” (1924), “The Cat and the Canary” (1927) o “Seven Footprints to Satan” (1929).
Amb l'arribada del sonor passà a interpretar rols molt menors sovint sense sortir als crèdits. Va fer diverses aparicions a la sèrie “Our Gang” de Hal Roach ("School's Out", "Big Ears", "Free Wheeling"), i també va interpretar papers sense acreditar en importants pel·lícules sonores com ara “El falcó maltès” (1941) i “Casablanca” (1942). El 1931 es va tornar a casar, amb Kathleen Bering. Es va retirar el 1959 i va morir per causes naturals a la Motion Picture Country Home a Pasadena a l'edat de 83 anys.
