A lingua marathi (;Laurie Bauer, 2007, The Linguistics Student’s Handbook, Edinburgh ) é unha lingua indoaria. É a lingua oficial do estado de Maharashtra, na India, e unha das 23 linguas oficiais da India. No 2001, tiña 73 millóns de falantes, sendo a cuarta lingua con máis falantes da India. Os principais dialectos do marathi son o marathi estándar e o marathi warhadi. Existen outros subdialectos, como o ahirani, o dangi, o vadvali, o samavedi, o khandeshi e o malwani. O marathi estándar é a lingua oficial do estado de Maharashtra.
