Paul Weingartner nado o 8. de xuño de 1931 na cidade de Innsbruck é un filósofo austríaco especializado en filosofía da ciencia.
Estuda filosofía, física, matemáticas, psicoloxía e pedagoxía na Universidade de Innsbruck (1954-1961). Obtén un doutoramento en 1961, é invitado como estudante posdoutoral co Profesor Karl Popper na Universidade de Londres e posteriormente como investigador na Universidade de Múnic (baixo a tutela do Profesor Stegmüller). Comeza a dar clase en 1965 na Universidade de Graz. Desde 1971 traballou como profesor de filosofía na Universidade de Salzburgo (profesor emérito desde 1999). As súas liñas de investigación concentráronse en torno a : Lóxica, filosofía da ciencia e as condición de fronteira nas problemáticas filosofía-relixión. "Paul Weingartner"
Doutor honoris causa (Dr. h.c.) pola Universidade Marie Curie Sklodowska, Lublin, (Polonia) 1995 e membro da Academia das Ciencias de Nova York (aceptado no ano 1997)
