Oscar-díj a legjobb operatőrnek

Az Oscar-díj a legjobb operatőrnek díjat az operatőrök kapják a jelölt filmben nyújtott munkájukért. A kezdetektől adnak operatőri díjat, bár az első három évben nem egy-egy filmhez kapcsolódott, hanem több film alapján adták ki. 1931-től kezdődően egy film fényképezéséért ítélik oda. 1939-től 1966-ig (kivéve 1957-et) külön díjazták a fekete-fehér és a színes filmeket. 1967 óta fekete-fehér filmként csak a Schindler listája nyert 1993-ban.

Két operatőr 18 jelölést kapott: Leon Shamroy (4 díj) és Charles B. Lang (1 díj), ez utóbbi volt a legfiatalabb jelölt is 28 évesen. Schamroyon kívül még Joseph Ruttenberg kapott 4 Oscart. A legidősebb díjazott Conrad L. Hall, 73 évesen nyerte el a díjat 1999-ben. Az első női jelölt Rachel Morrison volt 2017-ben a Mudbound című filmmel.
