Az úszó tarisznyarákok (Portunidae) a felsőbbrendű rákok (Malacostraca) osztályának tízlábú rákok (Decapoda) rendjébe, ezen belül a rövidfarkú rákok (Brachyura) alrendágába tartozó család.
