A vászonfű (Phormium) az egyszikűek (Liliopsida) osztályának spárgavirágúak (Asparagales) rendjébe, ezen belül a fűfafélék (Asphodelaceae) családjába tartozó nemzetség.
Előfordulásuk A vászonfűfajok előfordulási területe Új-Zéland és a környező szigetek.
