Díjak és kitüntetések 1995-ben Stewart megkapta a Michael Faraday-díjat, 1997-ben pedig ő tartotta a Royal Institution karácsonyi előadását A mágikus labirintusról (The Magical Maze). 2001-ben a Royal Society tagjává választották.
