O Torneio de xadrez de Nuremberga de 1896 foi uma competição internacional de xadrez que ocorreu entre 20 de julho e 9 de agosto na cidade Nuremberga. Trinta e nove jogadores almejavam participar mas somente vinte foram permitidos. Os premiados foram Emanuel Lasker (3000 marcos alemães), Geza Maroczy (2000M), Siegbert Tarrasch e Harry Pillsbury (1250M cada), Dawid Janowski (600M), Wilhelm Steinitz (300M), Carl August Walbrodt e Carl Schlechter (100M cada).
