The Top je piaty album skupiny The Cure.
Na albume hrajú viac menej len Robert Smith a nový bubeník Andy Anderson, keďže basgitarista Phil Thornalley sa nahrávania albumu nezúčastnil, pretože sa venoval produkovaniu iného albumu, gitarista Porl Thompson sa v čase nahrávania ešte nevrátil do skupiny úplne (hral iba ako hosť v jednej piesni, aj to na saxofón) a je otázne, nakoľko sa Lol Tolhurst (ktorý dva roky predtým vymenil bicie za klávesy) skutočne podieľal na nahrávaní.
