Таксономія Hegetotherium наразі обмежується типовим видом H. mirable, синонімами якого є H. convexum, H. anceps, H. minum, H. andinum, H. cerdasensis. "Hegetotherium" arctum раніше був віднесений до цього роду, але явно не є членом Hegetotheriidae.
